The Battle Begins
Polish Masters League: Quest for Glory
In a move that sparked excitement across the gaming community, Konrad “Kazan” Krzanowski rekindled the spirit of competition with a proposal for the National League's resurgence on November 16, 2023. Here are the streamlined guidelines for the thrilling 2023/2024 season’s journey. Check the current standings here.
Season and Scoring
Season Duration: The adventure unfolds from November, following the Clash Of Kings release, straight through to the end of the next year's October.
Scoring System: Players’ achievements are measured by their top four tournament performances. We use a scoring formula developed by British KoW Masters, calculates points based on the tournament's size, duration, and player standings. Specifically, the formula is:
P = (60 + number of players + tournament weight) – (player’s place – 1) * (60 + number of players + tournament weight) / (number of players)
Example: In a one-day tournament with 10 players:

Championship & Chapter
Polish Kings Of War League Championships: In November, the season's top 8 contenders will be invited to compete under the latest Clash Of Kings and season rules. The highest-ranked player is crowned Champion of the League, earning a place in next year’s league chapter.

Tournament Rules
Any fantasy or historical model in 28mm scale fitting the Kings Of War universe is allowed. The use of Mantic models is not mandatory but encouraged.
Scoring according to the Northern Kings Scoring System.
Painting is NOT required, but highly recommended—at minimum, every model in an army should have three colors applied. Bases should be done, and units placed on movement trays if multibases are not used. Units should look appropriate to their size—there is no PMC or MMC requirement, but regiments should look cool according to the “rule of cool.”
The winner is the player who earns the most major points from battles, followed by minor points for kills.
Timing
Each player has 60 minutes for their game. If a player’s time runs out, they stop rolling dice. Any unplayed fights are considered as if the Nerve Roll was Steady (as if two 1s were rolled).
Out of time, a player makes no more rolls for the remainder of the round (including regeneration).
A 7th turn can still occur if one player runs out of time.
If the scenario involves placing objective markers or loot tokens before choosing sides, after the roll to see who places first, players start their time and alternate placing markers.
After placing the last marker, players pause the clock and roll to see who deploys first.
Immediately after the roll, the player who won the roll places the first unit and starts the time again, and then players alternately deploy their units.
After deploying the last unit, players pause the clock and roll for “who chooses who goes first.” (If the scenario involves placing loot counters after deploying units, proceed as if deploying before choosing sides) After the roll, unpause for the player who won the toss, and the game begins.
Overall Timing
Players individually have 60 minutes per turn, but overall 2h15
Player timers can be paused whenever a question about rules arises.
If players see they won’t finish an equal number of turns – they should stop playing (e.g., when one player has played five rounds and there’s no chance both players, having their times, can play a 6th round).
After 2h15, the game is stopped, dice are laid down, and points are counted.
Terrains
In Kings Of WarSAW GT we use following terrain rules:
NOTE
In tournaments, we play WITHOUT the optional Withdraw rule and WITHOUT Allies.
Once a unit is moved, it is moved UNLESS the opponent allows it to be moved again.
No moving units outside the movement phase – this is a strategic game reliant on exploiting opponents’ errors – if an opponent forgets to move, tough luck. Therefore, using markers or tokens to indicate unit movements is highly recommended, allowing you to “preview” movements without later changes.
Regeneration and Iron Resolve always function automatically (unless a player’s time is up, then no regeneration rolls). Hence, if a player’s turn is ongoing and they “forgot” to make a regeneration roll, they can do it outside the movement phase. For Iron Resolve, only in the turn following the combat can “forgotten IR” be added.
ROLL ALL ROLLS – there’s no giving up on rolls “because two ones”. This is a timed game.
Latest FAQ applies.
In case of disputes (if not involving the organizer, the organizer decides).
Travel
There are frequent trains from Berlin to Warsaw that we can recommend if you fancy this mode of transportation. If you do, take a train to Warsaw Central Station (Warszawa Centralna), and from there, you can take public transport (trams 7 or 9), which takes about 30 minutes, or Uber (20 minutes)
There are also flights – you can fly to WAW (Warsaw Chopin Airport) flying WizzAir, BA, Aerlingus, etc, or to WMI (Warsaw-Modlin airport) flying Ryanair.
If you choose WMI, you need to take either Uber/Bolt/Taxi or the train to Warsaw—please add 60-90 minutes of travel time. If you land on WAW, it’s 10 minutes drive or 30 minutes public transport.
Accommodation
For a cozy night’s rest, check out the hotels close by! I suggest booking through booking.com, where you’ll find several spots within a short walk from the tournament venue. Prices hover around a sweet deal of about 45€ per night.
You can check Hotel Witkowski (320zł ~75€), Willa Okęcie 1936 (254zł ~60€) or Hotel Gordon (189zł ~44€).
Regarding the breakfast at the hotel, it’s up to personal preference, but there are grocery stores nearby where you can buy your food at much lower prices than those offered at hotels.
Warsaw Sightseeing
While you’re in Warsaw, there are plenty of activities you can consider. You could visit the Warsaw Uprising Museum, National Museum, or the Copernicus Science Center if you’re interested in science. If you’re in the mood for a walk, we recommend Łazienki Królewskie garden. From there, you can hop to the Warsaw Botanic Garden, which will be in full bloom during this time of year. After that, you should visit the Old Town or the Vistula Boulevards, which are bustling during weekend evenings and nights.
Not only can you play fantastic games, but you can have a great time in Warsaw!
